Experiment about global warming

!!!Planetarium at school

On May 15th the Planetarium of Thessaly_ PlanetTown, visited Verdikoussa. 

A portable, inflatable dome,equipped with a projection system of the latest technology, gave our pupils the opportunity to experience something unique and feel a bit extraordinary as the entire universe was depicted on the dome.

Our pupils watched material relevant with astronomy,always according to their age and then a conversation followed and related worksheets were filled in by them.

The class of the 2nd grade is eager to learn for more! 

So,intrigued by the question :"Mrs,what is global warming?" we took immediate action! After we had talked about everything that concerns this phenomenon, we went out on a sunny day, with two thermometres and a glass vase and we managed to simulate its function.

We noticed the change of temperature and recorded it. We were impressed by its abrupt ascent in the vase.

Our experiment worked! 

Now the only thing that's left is to do a project that will prove what we've learned so far!!!

                                               We had a great time!!!

It´s getting warm in Spain!

Dissemination of the project has been a total success in our school!! Taking advantage on the warm temperatures we gave one of these fans to every student to take home and spread the blog all over the quarter.
We loved it!!💗💗

Also we celebrated our Spring Fair with traditional dresses and dances. 

The fans really matched the girls dresses and all the families participated in this activity. 

!!!Health, Mediterranean diet and school vegetable garden_Verdikousia_Greece

By the pupils of the 4th and 5th grade

Our pupils dug, planted chiselled andwaterend the vegetables of the school garden with the guidance of Mr. Vassilis, teacher of the 4th Grade and we soon had our fresh vegetables.

Our visit to the garden on Thursday, 26th of April, aimed to their collection of Fresh salads in the schoolyard.

Also through this activity we aimed at the promotion of two local products, the Greek Feta cheese and of course the traditional local sourcreamcheese of Verdikousia named "Nivato".

Olives, olive oil, vinegar and were also used in order to make the Greek "horiatiki" salad.

So ideal weather, greek sun and qualitative greek products for good health!

The result satisfied us al!!
